Alan Lee Fortenberry, Sr., age 62, of Stevensville, PA passed away Monday morning, November 23, 2015 at his home with his loving wife by his side.

Alan was born on October 4, 1953 the son of the late Edgar Fortenberry and Jean Watson Fortenberry of Pittston, PA.

He was an owner/operator as an Over the Road Truck Driver for over 30 years. During those years he was drove with Campos Freight and National 101 trucking companies.

One of his main joys in life was to ride and work on motorcycles. He was very good working with his hands. He built his deck and did his own outstanding stonework around his house. He also did maintenance projects for people and business around the area. Alan was a happy go lucky guy. Most of all he loved his wife, Karen Buckley Fortenberry, who he married on June 22, 2001.

Alan is survived by his wife, who he had been together with for over 30 years, Karen Fortenberry of home; children Nicholas Fortenberry of New Jersey, and Paul Fortenberry of New Brunswick, NJ; grandson Michael Joseph Fortenberry of New Brunswick, NJ; mother Jean Watson Fortenberry of Pittston, PA; brother Richard Cole of Pittston, PA; sister-in-law Annie Gawronski of Stevensville, PA and Lynne Citron and her husband Joe of Elizabeth, NJ; brother-in-law Michael Buckley and his wife Lynne of Morehead City, NC; his beloved miniature pincher Sassy; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his father he was preceded in death by his daughter Tennille Fortenberry; son Alan Lee Fortenberry, Jr; and brother Glen Fortenberry.

A private memorial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
