Alice S. Hagendorf, age 93, formerly of Laceyville, PA passed away Wednesday evening, October 11, 2023.

She was born on October 22, 1929 in Mount Carmel, PA the daughter of the late Jesse M. and Lillian G. Chubb Neiswender.  She was a graduate of the South Philadelphia High School for Girls and earned her teaching degree from Glassboro State College.  After college Alice was employed with the Gateway Regional School District teaching 8th Grade Reading.

After her retirement her and her late husband, James W. Hagendorf, Jr. moved to Laceyville, PA.  She was a member of the Braintrim Baptist Church and was very active with the church especially with the AWANA program.  She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, James W. Hagendorf, III and his wife, Kim, of Pottstown, PA, her daughters, Alice C. Jones and her husband, Melvin, of Ocean City, MD, Dawn L. Jones of Bradenton, FL, and Lori J. Hagendorf of Audubon, NJ; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, William A. Neiswender, Arlette E. Kauffman, Alda K. Saudarg, Ruth L. Bachman, Janet C. Stockton, and Joann M. Perinelli.

Funeral Services for Alice will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 10:00 AM from the Braintrim Baptist Church, 283 Church St., Laceyville, PA with Reverend Joseph Kilmer of the church officiating.  Interment will follow at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Park in Dallas, PA.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Braintrim Baptist Church, PO Box 281, Laceyville, PA 18623 to help support the AWANA program.
