Alice R. (McMicken) Petty, age 92, of Meshoppen, PA, passed away on Friday morning, July 27, 2018 at the Gardens of Tunkhannock.

Alice was born on April 29, 1926 in Forkston, PA, the daughter of the late Ralph Robinson, who passed away in 1951 and Frances Barbur Robinson, who passed away in 1972. Alice graduated from Meshoppen High School with the class of 1944. Alice worked multiple jobs in her life including on the family farm, she was a secretary with Kintner Milling in Meshoppen, PA, she was a housekeeper at Tyler Memorial Hospital, and she also worked at the Meshoppen Dress Factory. Alice was married to Howard McMicken, who passed away in 1973. She was also the wife of Dale "Sam" Petty, who passed away in 1995.

Alice was a member of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the South Auburn Grange #1188, where she was a lecturer and helped with the dinners for a number of years. Alice was also a part of the WYCO Producers. Alice enjoyed gardening and sewing as well.

Alice is survived by her son Kenneth McMicken and his wife Donna of Tobyhanna, PA; daughter Kathleen  Shaver and her husband Harry of Tunkhannock, PA; step-children Margaret Jackson of Raleigh, NC; Josephine Newhart of Elk Lake, PA; Dale Petty and his wife Helen of Canton, PA; Joseph Petty and his wife Sue of Elk Lake, PA; David Petty and his wife Susan of Elk Lake, PA; grandchildren Brian McMicken; Kevin McMicken (Tammy); Anthony Shaver (Cheryl); Christian Bennett (Beth); Brett Bennett; Darren Bennett; and Greg Bennett; step-grandchildren, David McLeod; Susan Chovis; Dave Newhart; Terry Newhart;  Mark Petty; Barb Morgan (Mark); Danny Petty; and Alissa Petty; 24 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. Alice is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Jenny McMicken of Laceyville, PA and Juanita McMicken of Sayre, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Alice will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6, Meshoppen, PA with Reverend Scott Ryan of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Overfield Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening, July 30, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
