Mr. Allen (Luke) C. Davies, age 67 of 150 Lillian St., Elizabethtown, KY, passed away suddenly on Saturday evening, June 21, 2014, from injuries sustained in an ATV accident which happened earlier that evening, in Clarkson, Grayson County, KY. Mr. Davies grew up and formally resided in Susquehanna County, PA. for many years, before relocating to Elizabethtown, KY.
Mr. Davies was born in Montrose, PA. on December 5, 1946, the son of the late Clarence and Kathleen Steele Davies. Luke was a graduate of the Elk Lake High School class of 1965. After his graduation, he went directly into the US Navy, serving his country, from 1965 until 1969, stationed in Rhode Island aboard the USS Kankakee hole number AO-39.
After his discharge from the service, Luke was employed as a Helicopter Training Technician with Singer Link in Binghamton, NY, and later moving to Elizabethtown, KY, retiring from Singer Link after 46 years, in 2011.
In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling and hunting, with his family and friends.
Surviving is his wife the former Debbie Harper, of Elizabethtown, KY; his son, Kevin (Erika Lynn) Davies, of New Milford, PA. and his daughter Angela (James) Warner, his stepnson Brian Ray Harper and his family, also seven grandchildren, Darrin Davies; Evan Davies; Brittney Vincent; Sean Knight; Kyra Warner; Kasey Warner; and Kodi Warner, and two great-grandchildren, Leah Vincent; and Mia Vincent. He is also survived by two brothers, Gary (Mary Ann) Davies, of Meshoppen, PA.; Sidney (Lana) Davies of Meshoppen, PA. and three sisters, Margo Ace, of Sayre, PA.; Sharon (Walter) Sutton, of Springville, PA. and Orcelia (Henry) Very, of Lawton, PA. as well as several nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Meshoppen, PA. with Rev. Charles Bishop of the Elk Lake Community Church officiating. Interment will be in the Tyler Hill Cemetery, in Dimock twp., Susquehanna Co., PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening July 1, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Graveside Military Services will be conducted by the members of the Rought Hall Post # 510 American Legion; the Dennis Strong Post # 457 American Legion, and the Endless Mountains Post # 3583 VFW.
