Andrea Helene Turner, 80, of Sugar Run, PA passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at the Bradford County Manor, where she had been residing since 2018.
Andrea was born November 30, 1938 in the Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies. She was the daughter of the late Pierre and Lottie Polovoy Dumanoire.
Andrea married Arden L. Turner on July 30, 1960 at the St. Patrick's Church, Newton, Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies. They met when Arden was serving in the U.S Marine Corps and stationed in Trinidad. When Arden was discharged from the military they made their home in Burbank, CA.
Andrea worked for many years at Baxter Travenol Laboratories, Inc. in California. She worked second shift as a quality control inspector. Later when moving to Pennsylvania, and building their home in Quicks Bend, she worked for Honchell's IGA as a baker, for Momma D's Restaurant as a waitress and cook, then as a caregiver at Smith's Personal Care Home in Wyalusing where she retired from.
Andrea loved the outdoors and planting flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed playing cards and craft time get-togethers with some of her close friends. She enjoyed taking bus trips with her family when they visited from California as well as weekend bus trips to Atlantic City with her husband. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband Arden of Quicks Bend, daughter and son-in-law Terri and Wayne Gibson of Palmdale, CA; daughter Ann Turner of Glendale, CA; and son Christopher Turner of Forney, TX; her granddaughter Sandra (Chris) Langford of Palmdale, CA and grandson Matthew Gibson of Palmdale, CA. Also one great granddaughter Claire Langford of Palmdale, CA, her brothers/sisters-in-laws, Tony and Sally Turner of Quicks Bend, Connie Barzona of Quicks Bend, PA, Flora and Don Johnson of Quicks Bend, PA; her close friends Doris Williams and her late husband Neil (Red); as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Andrea was predeceased by her sister, Maureen Edge of Lewisburg, KY and her brother-in-law, Everett Turner.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Quicks Bend Cemetery with Dr. Reverend Karen Ballard of the Rome Presbyterian Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Andrea's name to the Wilmot Fire Co., 58 Riverview Road, Sugar Run, PA 18846.
