Anne Marie Capwell Cory, age 79, of Wyalusing, PA passed away early Sunday morning, September 23, 2018 at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.

Anne was born on March 11, 1939 in Lime Hill, PA the daughter of the late Raymond George (d. March 16, 1963) and Olive Marie Clark Capwell (d. July 14, 2011).  She attended Wyalusing High School.  She was employed with many local dress factories throughout the years and retired from the dress factory in Black Walnut, PA.

She was an active member of the Calvary Chapel in Wyalusing, PA and the TOPS club in Towanda, PA.  She thoroughly enjoyed volunteering with the Meals on Wheels program especially with her late husband, Dewitt Cory.  She also liked to visit the Park Place in Wyalusing to visit with the residents.  She enjoyed baking, crocheting, gardening, dancing with her friends and taking care of her chickens.  Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.

Anne is survived by her sons, Merton G. Walter, Jr. and his wife Nellie Rose of Stevensville, PA, Kenneth R. Walter and his wife Tina of Towanda, PA, Eugene D. Walter and his wife Penny of Virginia, and Michael E. Walter (Penny Warfle) of Wyalusing, PA; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings Raymond Capwell (Karen) of Michigan, William Capwell of Warren Center, PA, and Angela Howard (Gerald Howard) of Wysox, PA; her sister-in-law Cindy Capwell of Towanda, PA; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend Sandy Myhand and her church family.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt Cory (d. August 6, 2011) who she married on May 14, 1983; her daughter Betty Walter (d. February 27, 2015), her sister Shirley Carpenter, and her brothers John Capwell and Charles Capwell.

A memorial service for Anne will be held on October 27, 2018 at 3:00 PM from the Calvary Chapel in Wyaluisng, PA with Pastor John McAndrew of the church officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wyalusing Borough Cemetery.  Family and friends may gather at the church from 2:00 until the time of the service.
