Anthony James "A.J." Charles Reed, age 26, of 48 SR 3004 Laceyville, PA (West Auburn) passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday evening, December 10, 2014 at the Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock, PA.
Anthony was born in Tunkhannock, PA. on October 25, 1988 the son of Louis James Reed of Nicholson, PA and Robin L. Lattemann Newhart and step-father Michael Newhart of West Auburn. He graduated from Elk Lake High School with the Class of 2007. During high school A.J. was a stand out on the wrestling team and was a District 2 Champion as well as a Northeast Regional Qualifier his senior year.
A.J. was a fork lift operator for Excel Warehouse in Meshoppen, PA. He worked for various gas companies in the area such as Somerset, Caliber Casein, and Bakker Hughes. Anthony also worked in stone quarries throughout Susquehanna County. He attended the New Hope Ministries in West Auburn, PA. A.J. was a man of many interests as he loved playing his guitar as well as singing. He enjoyed motor cross riding and skateboarding. He loved being surrounded by his many friends but the thing he loved the most was being with his daughter, Madison D-Ann Reed.
Besides his parents and step father A.J. is survived by his daughter Madison D-Ann Reed of Nicholson, PA; his daughter's mother Kayla Marks of Nicholson, PA; sisters Tanya Reed of Montrose, PA; Jodi Hallock of Mehoopany, PA; brothers James Reed of Factoryville, PA; Jason Reed of Nicholson, PA; step-sister Kayla Newhart of Laceyville, PA; step-brothers Justin Newhart of Laceyville, PA; Alan Newhart of Tunkhannock, PA; maternal grandparents Henry C. and Sandra Lattemann of Tunkhannock, PA; and Kenneth and Loretta Sickler of Florida; paternal grandmother Marcia Newhart of West Auburn, PA. Anthony is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents Joseph and Shirley Gramberg; maternal great-grandmother Katherine Lattemann; and paternal grandfather Russell Newhart.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the New Hope Ministries in West Auburn, PA with Reverend Tim Barnett of the church officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
