Mrs. Barbara Ann Kobbe Ryce, age 62, of State Route 4002, Mehoopany, PA. (Jenningsville) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, at her home, in Windham twp., Wyoming County, early Friday morning, August 19, 2016.
Born in Sayre, PA, on November 23, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Virginia Smith Kobbe. Barbara was a graduate of the Sullivan County High School, with the class of 1971.
For many years, Barbara was employed in the Bounty Department as a technician at Procter and Gamble Paper Products, in Mehoopany, for over six years. She was also employed as a security guard at Procter and Gamble. Barb was most recently employed at the Dandy Mini Mart in Mehoopany.
In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and playing cards.
Surviving is her husband of 38 years, Clyde Ryce, whom she married on September 22, 1978. Her children, Timothy (Jamie) Ryce of Meshoppen, PA; Kevin Ryce, of Mehoopnay, PA; and Brandi Ryce (Matt Austin), of West Nicholson, PA; her grandchildren, Makayla Ryce; Destiny Ryce; Owen Austin; Xander Austin; Breanna Austin; and a grandson due in November. Her sisters Eugenia Schumacher, of Benton, PA; Bonnie Kobbe, of Dushore, PA; Edith "EB" Kobbe Spillers, of New Albany, PA, and her brother Leonard Kobbe Jr, of New Albany, PA. She is also survived by her extended family, Ray (Joyce) Ryce, of Meshoppen, PA; Marilyn Patton, of Florida; and Clayton (Judi) Ryce, of Pottstown, PA, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her nephew, Zachary Ryce; her nephew, Billy Spillers; great-nieces, Kaylee and Brooke Spillers, and great-nephew, Javon Manguel.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA, with Rev. Charles Bishop, of the Transue Community Church officiating. Interment will be in the North Flat Cemetery in Laceyville, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening, August 22, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
