Barbara Ann Simpson, age 73, of 124 SR 4002, Laceyville, PA (Stowell) passed away peacefully at her home Thursday night, November 13, 2014 with her husband by her side.
She was born on February 22, 1941 in Lake Ariel, PA the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Czubowicz Andreychik. She was a graduate of Hawley High School with the class of 1959.
She was employed as the head bookkeeper for a bank in Hawley, PA and was also employed with ICS in Scranton, PA. After she married her husband, Les, on May 16, 1964 she became a housewife/homemaker for her husband and three sons.
Barbara was a member of the St. Mary's of the Assumption Church as well as the St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and loved to do crossword puzzles. She also took great pleasure in gardening and cooking. She adored her family and was very proud of how her three sons were raised.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Les Simpson of Stowell, PA; her three sons Larry Simpson and his wife Amy of Vernon, NJ, Don Simpson and his wife Dorothy of Vernon, NJ, and Rick Simpson of Palmer, PA; her grandchildren Tyler Simpson and Ryan Simpson both of Vernon, NJ; her brothers Robert Andreychik and his wife Martha of Moscow, PA and Don Andreychik and his wife Lillian of Lake Ariel, PA; her favorite aunt, Anne of Connecticut; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Wyalusing, PA with Father Joseph Manarchuck of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parrish officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Anthony's Cemetery in Stowell, PA. Family and friends may call at Sheldon Funeral Homes, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 9:00-10:30 AM.
