Berton A. Hollister, Jr., age 67, of Auburn Center, PA passed away at his home on Tuesday evening, February 27, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 19, 1957 in Meshoppen, PA, he was the son of the late Berton (d. Dec. 18, 2022) and Rose Marie Oakes Hollister, Sr. (d. Sept. 20, 2023).  Growing up in the Meshoppen area, Berton attended and graduated from Elk Lake High School.

After high school, Berton gained employment with Auburn Township and would remain there for over 40 years before retiring as a Contract Supervisor.

Berton really enjoyed being in the outdoors, spending many hours hunting and fishing around the family farm.  He also had an extreme fondness for Dunkin Donuts and the delicious coffee and treats that could be found there.  Most of all, Berton enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Surviving Berton are his children Burton "Andy" A. Hollister III (Krystal) of Nicholson, PA and Jennifer Hoskins (Mike) of Auburn Center, PA; his grandchildren, Jasmine, Hailey, Jesse, Kyra, and Lane; his great-grandchild, Ayden; and his sisters, Bonnie Fisher of Forkston, PA and Laurie Trible (Alan, Sr.) of Auburn Center, PA.  He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Donna Lynn Martin Hollister (d. March 3, 2015); his brother, Jim Hollister; his grandchild, Tye Hollister; and his brother-in-law, John Fisher.

A funeral service for Berton will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 Main St., Meshoppen, PA 18630 with Reverend Charlie Bishop of the Transue and Elk Lake Community Churches officiating.  Family and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
