Mrs. Bette Farr, age 96, passed away early Friday morning, October 28, 2022 at her home on Nimble Hill, Mehoopany, PA, surrounded by her loving family. Bette was born in Endicott, NY on May 11, 1926, the daughter of the late Ralph and Marian Owen Sutton.

Growing up around the Meshoppen and Lynn areas, she was a graduate of the Springville High School, and later from the Scranton Business College. It was always her goal of having two car loads of entry's every year, earning many First Place and Best of Show Ribbons. She would also enjoy entering her canned goods at the Harford Fair and loved attending the Bloomsburg Fair.

For many years, Bette was employed as a secretary at the Wyoming County Courthouse, in Tunkhannock, PA, and for over 20 years at the Procter and Gamble Paper Products, in Mehoopany, PA

Bette and Ed also loved attending dances throughout the area where they would square dance and Bette would polka the night away. Bette was also involved with the Mehoopany United Methodist Church, and it's Sunday School, the Mehoopany 4 th . of July parades and many other community activities. She was also a leader for the Mehoopany 4-H Clubs, and a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts. Bette was also a long-time writer of the Nimble Hill News, for the Tunkhannock New Age, and the Wyalusing Rocket, and Montrose Independent Newspapers.

Surviving are her children, Lloyd and Janet Farr, of Rome, GA; Ginger Ann and Philip Howell; Walter and Cindy Farr; and Philip and Penny Farr, all of Mehoopany, PA.
