Corporal Bradley Albert Shatinsky, age 64, passed away peacefully at his home on Hidden Meadows Lane in Browntown, PA on Tuesday morning, November 25, 2025.
Brad was born on August 9, 1961 in Susquehanna County. He was the son of the late Albert V. (d. November 11, 2011) and Jenora Brown Shatinsky (d. June 7, 2013). He was raised in Laceyville and graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School with the class of 1979. After high school he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and played football at Lebanon Valley College and graduated with the class of 1983.
He began his decorated and distinguished career with the Pennsylvania State Police in 1987 after working for a short time in the Bradford County Courthouse. While with the PSP he worked in the Troop F Vice and Narcotics Unit and with various Local, State and Federal Task Forces. Bradley was everyone’s go to throughout his career setting the bar higher in every position he held. His career was managed with the utmost professionalism and personal sacrifice, always putting the victim first. During Brad’s career he was stationed at different PSP Locations including Mansfield, Montoursville, Towanda and Tunkhannock. After accepting a promotion to the rank of Corporal he worked as a supervisor at Towanda and Tunkhannock rounding out his career as the Criminal Investigation Unit Supervisor where he retired in 2013. He was proud to be a counselor for Members Assistance Program to assist PSP members and families who lost a loved one. After his retirement from PSP, Brad was an instrumental part of establishing Global Security Corporation in northeastern Pennsylvania with the natural gas industry where he held supervisory positions up until the time of his passing.
Brad was an avid Cowboy Fan. He and Valerie made multiple trips to Dallas to watch the games and became friends with multiple players. His favorite band was 38 Special and after getting the opportunity to work a security detail at a concert, he also became good friends with the band members for the past 25 years. Most of all he enjoyed being at home with his wife, Valerie, his kids, as he called their dogs, and horses, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Brad is survive by his wife whom he married on November 1, Valerie; children, Adrielle Elsbree and her husband, Ethan of Sayre, PA and Colin Blemle and his wife, LaDonna, of Wilmot Twp., PA; grandchildren, Flint and Bowyer Elsbree, RaeLea, Tucker, and Brynn Harvey, and Carson Blemle; father/mother-in-law, Rodney and Alita Millard of Browntown, PA; sisters-in-law, Beth Shaw (Mike) of Sayre, PA, Christa Millard (Rick Antonetti) of Sayre, PA and Stephanie Brown (James) of Herrickville, PA; an Aunt Theresa Ross of Florida; as well as many close cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral Services for Brad will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA 18853 with Lay Minister Vickie Ellis of the Beaver Meadows Church officiating. Interment will be held at the Lacey St. Cemetery in Laceyville, PA with formal Pennsylvania State Police Honors. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Brad’s name to Meshoppen Cat Rescue, 9883 State Route 6, Meshoppen, PA 18630.
