Funeral Services for Carol will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 1:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6 Meshoppen, PA with Reverend Gary Myers of the Meshoppen Biblical Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery.

Obituary

Carol Mae Gregory, age 78, of Meshoppen, PA passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at her home with her loving family by her side.

Carol was born on January 2, 1948 as the very first baby born at the Tyler Hospital in Meshoppen, PA. She was the daughter of the late Ronald and Ethel Jones Rogers. She was a graduate Elk Lake High School with the class of 1967.

She was employed with Jerry Burke for many years helping with the auctions. She enjoyed collecting many antiques and she was proud of her collection of porcelain dolls, teddy bears, sleds, cook books, and lunch boxes. One of her prize possessions was a bowl and pitcher set that her husband gifted to her. She took great pleasure in listening to music, especially Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. Her favorite holiday was Christmas.

She married George J. Gregory II on March 29, 1968 and together they raise five children. Carol greatest joy was her family especially her children and grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her husband George J. Gregory, II; her children, Loretta Cobb of Meshoppen, PA, Tammy Gregory of West Auburn, PA, George Gregory, III of Meshoppen, PA, Heather Gregory (Rich Goga) of Port Dickinson, NY, and Todd Gregory of Meshoppen, PA; her grandchildren, Justin Cobb of Washinton, D.C., Petty Officer 1st Class, Noah Cobb of Dam Neck, VA, Sarah Cobb of Meshoppen, PA, Mariah Heeman of West Auburn, PA, Brittany Gregory of Ithaca, NY, Derek Goga of Port Dickinson, NY, Tori Goga of Port Dickinson, NY and Damon Goga of Port Dickinson, NY; her brother, Zane Rogers of Virginia; her brothers/sisters-in-law, Evelyn “Maggie” Hegedty of Tunkhannock, PA, James Barrett of Hayesville, NC, Pam Stoddard (Lenny Fitzgerald) of Dushore, PA, Robert Hoover of Mildred, PA, and Dawn Drozd (Scott Christ) of New Albany, PA; her special care giver, Shanna Woodruff; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Rogers (d. 1986); her son-in-law, Lindy Heeman (d. July 17, 2021); her mother/father-in-law, Catherine (d. December 8, 2017) and George Gregory, Sr. (d. January 11, 1964); and her brother/sisters-in-law, Patricia Barrett (d. September 29, 2023) Willowmea Hoover (d. December 21, 2023), Rex Gregory, Sr. (d. June 14, 2018) and Joanne Wandall.

Funeral Services for Carol will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 1:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6 Meshoppen, PA with Reverend Gary Myers of the Meshoppen Biblical Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
