Obituary
Charles Kenneth Lamphere, age 74, of Laceyville, PA, passed away on Friday May 19, 2017 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Charles was born on August 3, 1942, in Towanda, PA the son of the late John Edward and Mildred Anderson Lamphere. He attended Wysox School. On January 4, 1969, he married the former Sharon Benjamin. Charles worked for Taylor's, now known as Cargill, for over 30 years. When he wasn't working at Taylor's he was working on the farm.
Charles liked to tinker with mechanical toys. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He also liked to go to Mount Pisgah State Park. He liked to collect things from yards sales and he would even dabble in selling those things. Charles was a family man who loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had an uplifting spirit that radiated through everyone that he met.
Charles is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon Lamphere of Laceyville, PA; daughter Charleen Hall (Kirk Gowin) of Wyalusing, PA; son Andy Lamphere (Barb Juckett) of Laceyville, PA; grandchildren Francis O. Hall; Shaileen L. Hall, Andrew "Bud" C. Lamphere (Alyssa), Preston K. Lamphere (Sonya Wood); great-grandchildren Franky, Jayce, Kylee, Wyatt, Saige, Collin, and Kyra. He is also survived by his sister, Edna Slayter of Canton, PA; special nieces and nephews Missy and George Jennings, Fran Lamphere, and Janet and Ray House; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings George Lamphere, Fran Lamphere, Diane Reeves, Lillian Anderson, and Bertha Patton.
A memorial service will be held for Charles on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with his brother-in-law, Pastor Paul Benjamin, officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Charles name to the Bradford County Relay for Life, c/o Amy Huffman, PO Box 217, Wyalusing, PA 18623.
