Christopher David Buckingham, age 31, of Meshoppen, PA passed away on November 24, 2015 unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep with his fiancé by his side.

Chris was born on September 28, 1984 the son of the late Carol Burr Buckingham and Raymond Buckingham of Meshoppen, PA. He graduated from Elk Lake High School in 2003. He was a dedicated employee at Pompei's Pizzeria in Tunkhannock for 15 years. Chris also recently became an avid carpenter and was so excited so show everyone his new found skills.

He was a member of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church and the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Chris was always looking for an adventure especially when it came to the great outdoors: from hunting in Illinois, fishing for salmon in Pulaski, NY, snowboarding, to hiking Mt. Mitchell in North Carolina and "living off the land". He most definitely had an adventurous soul and heart, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends and strived to involve as many as he could, to enjoy life as he did.

Not only did Chris have an adventurous heart he had a gentle heart behind a chest his loving mother, also deceased, always use to say "That is where God touched him" and ironically enough he is completely in God's hands now with his mother by his side. He will forever hold a place in everyone's heart who knew him and will be dearly missed each and every day.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Burr Buckingham, his uncle, David Burr (his namesake); and his grandparents Ronald and Gail Burr and Clarence and Elsie Buckingham.

Chris is lovingly remembered by his father, Raymond Buckingham of Meshoppen; his fiancé, Mary Kitlan of Meshoppen; his brothers Jeffery Buckingham (Melinda), of Mehoopany and Nathaniel Buckingham of Tunkhannock; his sisters Brianne Buckingham (Eddie Schwarztrauber) of Meshoppen, Kassandra Buckingham (Brock Welch) of Springville, Jennifer McClain (Stacey) of Tunkhannock, and Michelle Caines (Victor) of Meshoppen; as well as too many to list, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 8:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, SR 6, Meshoppen with Reverend Scott Ryan of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family at the Overfield Cemetery, Meshoppen, PA.
