David Harold Decker (68) Obit
David Harold Decker, age 68, of Saint Augustine, FL (formerly of Laceyville, PA) passed away on Saturday evening, March 9, 2013 at the Special Care Hospital in Nanticoke, PA.
He was born on January 23, 1945 in West Nicholson, PA, the son of the late Bruce (December 31, 1991) and Mildred E. Carey Decker (August 14, 2012).
David worked on Ray and Lida Jackson's Farm in Laceyville, PA from 1961-1972 and Elmglade Farm, owned by Tom and Judy McCarty in Sugar Run, PA from 1972-1997. He then moved to Saint Augustine and worked for the St. Johns County School District from 1997 until he retired in 2008.
He liked to watch baseball games and Jeff Gordon racing in NASCAR. He enjoyed being outside, mainly doing lawn work and loved to take walks with his grandson. Most of all he loved being around his family, especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Marie Fassett Decker, whom he married on June 7, 1967, his daughters Debbie Middle of Saint Augustine, FL, Jody Beasley of Saint Augustine, FL, and Nicole Algar and her husband John of Mehoopany, PA, his grandchildren Cody and Zachary Middle both Saint Augustine, FL and Caitlin and Nicholas Algar of Mehoopany, PA, his sister of Emily Bitler of Laceyville, PA as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Edwin Decker (August 5, 2002) and his brother-in-law Edward Bitler (November 23, 2000).
It was David's wishes not to have any services. Arrangements were made with Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA.
