David Gilbert Francis Lane, age 55, of New Albany, passed away on Friday evening July 10, 2015 at the Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital.

David was born on January 17, 1960 in Boston, MA. He was the son of Edward and Kathy Schmuch of Bemidji, MN and the late Barbara Lane Slaney. He attended Lynn Classical in Massachusetts. David moved to New Albany, PA and had worked as a chef at Villa Sena in Towanda, PA, and at both the Wyalusing Post #510 and Bob's Restaurant in Wyalusing, PA.

David is survived by his father, Edward and stepmother, Kathy Schmuch; his children Richard Francis David Lane (Lisa) of Wyalusing, PA, Christopher David Lane of Salem, MA, and Heather Elizabeth Lane also of Salem, MA; grandchildren Tristan David Lane, Cameron Nathanial Lane, and Sylvia Elizabeth Lane, all of Wyalusing, PA. Also surviving are David's siblings, Mark Slaney (Chey), a very special brother of Rosewell, GA, and Lisa Slaney, Marta-Rhae Slaney, Stephanie Slaney, and Rachel Slaney, all of Lynn, MA. David is also survived by a very special nephew Victor Soto-Soto of North Carolina, a very special niece Felicia Slaney of Florida, as well as many loved nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Lane Slaney.

Memorial services for David will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 4:00 PM at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA with Dr. Rev. Barry Ballard of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 3:00 until the start of the service.
