David R. Kipar of Auburn Township, PA passed away on Saturday morning, September 28, 2024 at the Meadowview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Montrose, PA where he had been residing for the last two years.

David was born on April 10, 1945 on the family farm in Auburn Center, PA.  He was the oldest son of the late Kurt R. (d. September 17, 2005) and Eleanor M. Bullock Kipar (d. September 19, 2012).  He was a graduate of Elk Lake High School with the class of 1963.  He was very fond of his classmates and took great pleasure organizing the class reunions.

He was the Parts and Service Manager at Vitale Ford in Montrose, PA.  After being with Vitale Ford for 30 years, he became a Dispatcher with the Pennsylvania State Police Troop R in Gibson, PA.

A passionate equestrian, he loved raising, riding and showing quarter horses.  He especially enjoyed watching his granddaughter, Rylee, who shared his interest in horses. He was a member of the America Quarter Horse Association, the National Reining Horse Association, the NEPA Team Penning Association at the Wyoming County Fairgrounds, the Endless Mountains Riding Club, also he was a founding member of the Eastern PA Reining Horse Association.  David enjoyed deer hunting and his Australian Shepherds, especially Sammy and Dusty.  He loved to socialize with people and spending time with his family.

David is survived by Susan, to whom he was married for over 58 years; his sons and spouses, Michael and Amy Kipar and Patrick and Laura Kipar all of Auburn Twp.; his grandchildren, Rylee Jean, Kurt Patrick, Darby Marissa, and Nathan Michael; his brother and wife, Paul and Sue Kipar of Auburn Twp.; his nephews and niece, Ryan Jay (Megan) Kipar of Rush, PA, Alex Paul (Cassie) Kipar of Auburn Twp. and Rebecca R. Booth of Baltimore, MD; as well as several cousins, great nieces/nephews and friends.

Funeral Services for David will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 1:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6, Meshoppen, PA with Reverend Thomas Mott officiating.  Interment will follow at the Jersey Hill Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in David's name to Wyoming County Fair, 9141 SR 6, Meshoppen, PA 18630 or to the Wyoming County 4-H, 71 Hollow Crest Road, Suite 2, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
