Mr. David E. Wood, age 63, of Laceyville, PA., passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening, February 13, 2015 at the Tyler Memorial Hospital, in Tunkhannock, PA, where he had been taken earlier in the day.

Born in Meshoppen, PA. on November 13, 1951, Dave was the son of the late Alva G. and Alice M. Stegner Wood. Growing up in the Wyalusing area, he was a graduate of the Wyalusing Valley High School, class of 1970. On August 31, 1974, he married the former Connie Lou Singer, of Laceyville, PA.

For over 34 years, Dave worked in many stone quarries, throughout Bradford County. For over 10 years afterward, Dave was employed as a bank courier, for Peoples State Bank, in Wyalusing, PA, until his retirement in 2010.

In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors and watching wildlife, and loved the time he got to hunt with his son in law, and other family members and friends. Being a very accomplished hunter, fisher, and trapper, Dave was awarded in 2010, by taking the largest archery buck in Tuscarora Township in Bradford County, through the Bradford County Trophy Bear and Deer Club. For many years, he was a member of bowling leagues with the Mountainside Lanes, in Wyalusing. He loved the many family dinners, and picnics, especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife of 40 years, Connie Lou Wood, of Laceyville, PA., his daughter and son in law, Kelly and Keith Pennay, and his two grandchildren, Brett and Brianna Pennay, all of Laceyville, PA. Dave is also survived by his brother and his wife, Roger and Mary Wood, of Sugar Run, PA, and his sister in law, Charlene Repsher, of Laceyville, PA. as well and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Alva C. "Bucky" Wood, in 2010; his father in law, Charles B. Singer, in 2002; his mother in law, Mildred F. Brown Singer, in 2014; and his brother in law, Keith E. Repsher, in 2010.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA. with a long time friend and neighbor, Rev. Mark King, officiating. Interment will be in the North Flat Cemetery in Laceyville, PA. Family and friends may call at the funeral home, on Tuesday evening, February 17, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
