Deborah Jean Smith, age 63, of Wyalusing, PA passed away on Thursday morning, January 23, 2025 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.

Deb was born on October 26, 1961in Meshoppen, PA the daughter of the late Peter, Jr. (d. December 7, 2016) and Lois Jeannette Farr Walter (d. January 2, 2018).  She graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School with the class of 1980.

She began her career as a Seamstress at the Standing Stone Sewing Factory.  She was employed by P&G in the Diaper Department for 10 years.  Deb was a housewife and homemaker for her family for most of her life.

Deb was a very kind soul.  She loved crocheting, dancing, and listening to music.  She was also a very sarcastic person, she loved to joke and play around.  She took great pleasure going on adventures and just driving around to visit family and friends.  Deb loved her family and liked to keep them close to her heart.  She will be greatly missed.

Deborah is survived by her children, Ronald B. Smith, Jr. and his wife, Tonya, of Wyalusing, PA and Melissa Kay Smith and her partner, Josh Rundell of Rome, PA; her grandchildren, Landen Smith, Alexia Kintner, and Audreanna Fenton; her husband, Ronald Smith, Sr. of Wyalusing, PA; her brothers, Paul Walter of Homets Ferry, PA and Robert Walter of Elmira, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Duane Walter (d. March 25, 2009) and Peter Walter, III (d. March 14, 2020).

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA with Lay Minister Vickie Ellis of the Beaver Meadows Community Church officiating.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.  Interment will take place at a late date at the Camptown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the donor's local fire company.
