Dennis J. Decker, age 58

Dennis J. "Denny" Decker, age 58, of Laceyville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, July 7, 2022, at his home in Laceyville, PA.

Denny was born in Meshoppen, PA, on July 29, 1963 the son of the late Edwin and Carol Ackley Decker. Growing up on Lacey St. in Laceyville, PA, he was raised by his grandparents, Bruce and Milly Decker. Denny was a graduate of the Wyalusing High School.

While going to school, and after his graduation, he was employed by Taylor Packing in Wyalusing, PA, and by Bluhm's Shopping Center in Laceyville, PA. While working for Bluhm's, for 14 years, Denny was the tire man. After, Denny went on his own, and opened and operated Denny's Tire and Auto, in 1990. He was in business for many years, until he sold the business to Dandy Mini Markets. He would later work at Arrow United in Wyalusing and Laceyville, until health problems forced his retirement.

Denny was a member of the Rought Hall Post# 510 American Legion S.A.L. In his spare time, Denny enjoyed fishing and camping on the Susquehanna River. He also enjoyed coon hunting and deer hunting, throughout his younger years. Most of all, he enjoyed the friendship of his many friends throughout the area. The last couple of years he enjoyed visiting and enjoying the company of his boys and girls at Eva's in Laceyville.

Losing most of his family over the years, he is survived by cousins, Debbie Freve, of Green Cove Springs, FL; Jody Beasley of Jacksonville, FL; Nicole Algar, of Mehoopany, PA; and Barb Lantz, of Laceyville, PA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bruce and Milly Decker, his sister, Diane Decker, his aunt, Emily Bitler, and his uncle David Decker.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on his birthday, Friday evening, July 29, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Eva's in Laceyville, PA.
