Diana Marie Schoonover, age 78, of Black Walnut, PA passed away peacefully on Monday evening, July 28, 2025 at the Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital in Towanda, PA.
Born on November 15, 1946 in Sayre, PA, she was the daughter of the late Floyd M. (d. Oct 3, 1995) and Doris Newman (d. Jan 2, 2011) Brown, Jr. In adulthood, Diana found employment as a seamstress at the Meshoppen Dress Factory in Meshoppen, PA and then spent 19 years with Staff Management at Proctor & Gamble after the factory's closure.
In her free time Diana enjoyed collecting Native American dolls and spending time with her family.
Diana is survived by her loving husband Roland "Ronnie" Schoonover of Black Walnut, PA; her children James Brown (Shelly) of Black Walnut, PA and Ronald "Boo" Schoonover of Black Walnut, PA; her siblings, Dennis Brown (Linda) of Charlotte, NC, Floyd "Tim" Brown (Sandra) of Montrose, PA, Connie Lippner (David) of Wysox, PA and Lakeland, FL, Karen Russick of Lakeland, FL, Mary Lou Smith of Meshoppen, PA, and Rebecca Smith of Pittston, PA; her in-laws, Joyce Vellas (Roger) of Dallas, PA and Linda Chmielowiec (Dave) of Manheim, PA.
Along with her parents, Diana is preceded in death by her siblings, Wilbert Brown (d. April 26, 1988), Gary Brown (d. June 23, 1978), Alden Brown (d. Jan. 11, 2025), and Laura Lee Baker (d. Dec. 2, 2021); and her in-laws, Max Russick (d. Aug 5, 2016), Virginia Brown (d. Feb. 2, 2024), George Smith (d. July 23, 1992), David Baker (d. Oct. 1, 1994), Clarence Williams (d. July 4, 2006), Sam Smith (d. May 12, 2021) and Bobby Schoonover (d. 2023).
A Graveside Service will be held for Diana at the Perrins-Marsh Cemetery, Route 292 (on SR 2005 and Demunds Rd.), Center Moreland, PA on Saturday, August 16 at 12:00 PM and will be officiated by Pastor Charlie Bishop of the Transue and Elk Lake Community Churches.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diana's name to Meshoppen Ambulance, PO Box 118, Meshoppen, PA 18630.
