Obituary

Donna Marie Clapper Adams Harvey passed away peacefully on Thursday December 10 th at home surrounded by her children. Known to many as "Mama", Donna was born on Clapper Hill January 17, 1938 to the late Daniel and Sylvia Clapper. Donna was preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth E. Adams, brother Douglas Clapper, brother Daniel and wife Rita Clapper, sister in law Patt Clapper and daughter in law Kathy Adams. Survived by her siblings Madge Kershner and husband Allen, brother Dennis Clapper and sister-in-law Virginia Clapper, Donna leaves behind five children and their spouses; Steve Adams, Julie and husband Richard Bishop, Gina Button, Lena and husband Scott Newhart, Michael and wife Jennifer Harvey. She was a wonderful grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Donna had an array of passions in life, but her love of music and Elvis never went unnoticed. Often referred to as "Songbird", Donna was an extremely talented self-taught musician. Throughout her lifetime, it wasn't uncommon to see Donna singing and playing bass guitar on stage for several bands from Laceyville to Scranton and beyond, as well as family reunions and events. Donna worked hard raising a family, and held several jobs before retiring as a manager from Walmart in Tunkhannock, and moving in to care for her father Daniel until his passing. Donna's love of gardening and cooking was a beautiful blessing to those she loved, always generously offering an open door for dinner. An avid dog lover, Donna had several "babies" that she enjoyed sharing ice cream with and taking care of throughout her lifetime. She battled breast cancer and came out a survivor. With her infectious laugh and contagious grin, Donna's dry sense of humor with absolutely no filter will surely be missed by many of those that loved her dearly. Due to the current circumstances, funeral arrangements have been kept limited and private to just immediate family.

Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA. Online condolences may be made at www.SheldonFuneralHomes.com
