Donna Mae Otten, 91, of Forkston Twp., PA passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Born on April 24, 1935, in New Albany, PA, Donna was the daughter of the late Gerald and Roxanna (Little) Kraus. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a hardworking farmer’s wife who took great pride in working alongside her husband and children on the family farm.

Donna married the love of her life, Roger C. Otten, on August 13, 1952. Together, they built a life centered on family, hard work, and their love of farming. Roger preceded her in death on March 12, 2015.

Donna was a wonderful cook who always made sure there was something delicious to eat and a dessert ready to enjoy. Her family will fondly remember that there was always a frozen chocolate cake waiting in the freezer. She loved caring for her family and especially enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, as she had a special place in her heart for babies and young children. She never forgot a birthday and always made sure her children were looking their best, reminding them to comb their hair. Donna also took pride in keeping her own hair and nails done every week.

A woman of many interests and talents, Donna enjoyed hunting, sewing clothes, working with colored pencils, doing puzzles, and playing bingo. She also loved watching the Polkas on television. She was an active member of the Forkston United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed attending special events, including Christmas dinners and music programs. She also served on the Forkston Township Election Board.

Above all, Donna treasured her family and the life she shared with them. Her dedication to her home, farm, and loved ones, along with her caring nature and the many little traditions that made her special, will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories that her family will carry forward for generations.

Donna is survived by her children, Eric C. Otten and his wife, Sue, of Scranton, PA, Christie Boecker and her husband, Lonnie, of Meshoppen, PA, Calvin A. Otten and his wife, Dawn, of Forkston Twp., PA; and Stuart W. Otten and his wife, Ellen, of Forkston Twp, PA.
