Doris Louise Chilson Johnson, age 80, of Terrytown, PA passed away at her home on July 25, 2015 with her son, Ricky, by her side.

She was born in Terrytown on November 18, 1934, the daughter of the late Allen and Helen Benjamin Chilson.

She worked at Bendix and local sewing factories. Doris married Ronald "Ronnie" LaVern Johnson on December 31, 1955. After she was married she became a housewife and raised her six children.

She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Family was very important to her. She loved children, especially babies and enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She loved flowers, particularly roses and took pride in all the flower gardens she had. Doris enjoyed going to high school sporting events and Dunn Hill races with Ronnie. She liked to sew and put puzzles together. Doris was always very giving with donations, mainly to help children out. She will always be remembered for her smile and lending a helping hand.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Pam (Charles) Kingston of Wyalusing, PA, Linda (Bruce) Johnson, Sr., of Wyalusing, PA, Carol Bennett of Laceyville, PA, Ronald (Tammy) Johnson, Jr. of Wyalusing, PA, Randall Johnson of Wyalusing, PA, and Ricky (Anna) Johnson of Wyalusing, PA; her grandchildren Brian Kingston, Scott Kingston, Bruce Johnson, Jr., April Johnson, Jamie Whyte, Windy Corker, Julian Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Keely Johnson, and Katie Johnson; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Dean Chilson, Nelson Chilson, Florence Hoover, Joyce Kipp, Christine Salsman, Alice Campbell, Maggie Yonkin and Beverly Wells; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ronnie, on February 10, 2005; father Allen Chilson; mother Helen Benjamin Chilson Hoover; grandsons Charles Kingston, Jr. and Lucas Johnson; son-in-law Fred Bennett; daughter-in-law Paula Johnson; brothers Ralph Chilson, Ronnie Chilson, Francis Chilson, Sr.; Layton Chilson (infant); and her half brother Henry.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 12:00 noon from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with the Reverend Dr. Barry Ballard of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Wyalusing Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
