Doris Whipple, age 94, of Laceyville, PA passed away Saturday evening, May 13, 2023 at the Endless Mountains Health Systems in Montrose, PA.

Doris was born on September 19, 1928 in Essex, MD the daughter of the late Herman and Mimmie Miller Diesel. She was born and raised in Maryland. In 1960 she moved to Laceyville and raised her family with her husband, Lawrence E. Whipple, Sr.

She was employed as a Seamstress with many local Dress Factories. She enjoyed making candy. Doris was very devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her and her husband were also foster parents in the 1980's.

Doris is survived by her children, Lawrence E. Whipple, Jr. (Laura) of Wyalusing, PA, Leeann Burgess of Wilmot Township, PA, Darlene Kohler (Gilbert) of West Auburn, PA, and Kathleen Whipple (George) of Ohio; her companion, Jamie Thompson; her grandchildren, Dawn Camp (David) of Wyalusing, PA, Elaine Perry (Sean) of Horseheads, NY, Lawrence E. Whipple, III (Stefani) of Wyalusing, PA, Elizabeth Sprout (Cory) of Montrose, PA, Nicholas Kohler of West Auburn, PA, Sarah Renzelli (Nick) of West Virginia, Lacey Johnson of West Virginia, and Carrie Wilmarth of Ohio; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence E. Whipple, Sr. (d. March 29, 1997); her son Lawrence Dale Whipple; her grandson, Dale Edward Whipple; three sisters; and one brother.

A private family service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
