Obituary
Dorothy E. Adams, age 97, of New Albany (formerly of Dushore), PA passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital.
She was born on December 15, 1918 in Dushore, PA the daughter of the late Floyd D. and Neva U. Bailey Eberlin. She was a graduate of Dushore High School with the class of 1937.
Dorothy was employed at the Wyalusing Rocks Restaurant and the Eagles Mere County Club as a waitress. She also worked with the Wyalusing Valley and Sullivan County School Districts with the Green Thumb and Foster Grandparent programs.
She was a member of the St. John's Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Wilmot, PA, the St. John's Working Society, the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534 auxiliary, the Voiture 549 40 & 8 La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux auxiliary. Her greatest joy was raising her six sons.
Dorothy is survived by her sons Kenneth C. Adams and his wife Barbara of Jenningsville, PA, Kurtis F. Adams of Dushore, PA, John E. Adams and wife Julie of New Albany, PA, Daniel B. Adams of Dushore, PA and Robin L. Adams of Dushore, PA; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brothers Floyd R. Eberlin and wife Lucy of Dushore, PA, and Zade Q. Eberlin and wife Delores of New Albany, PA; sisters Marian M. Voda of Laceyville, PA and Melvia Stoothoff of Dushore, PA; special friends Denise Lutz Delamater of South Auburn, PA and Donna Lutz of Mehoopany, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clarke Baker Adams (June 27, 1982), long time companion Lawrence V. Rohe (May 12, 2015), son Clarke Burr Adams (September 23, 2014), brother Curtis Eberlin, brother and sister-in-law Edmond J. and Kay Eberlin, sister and brother-in-law Reva A. and Pete Adams, brother-in-law Jack Stoothoff, and nephews William Z. Baker and Eric T. Stoothoff.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM from the St. John's Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Wilmot, PA with Reverend Phyllis Pelletier of the church officiating. Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA on Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the St. John's Chapel, PO Box 460, Dushore, PA 18614 or to the Sullivan County Library, PO Box 309, Dushore, PA 18614.
