Dorothy Anne Allen, age 72, of Springville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, PA.

Dorothy was born on August 29, 1946 in Kingston, PA, the daughter of the late Cecil C. Allen and Bernadette McGavin Allen. She was a graduate from Elk Lake High School with the Class of 1964. Dorothy worked as an accountant and secretary for the Microdine Corporation in Ocala, FL for numerous years, as well as the Associated Fruit Packers in Ocklawaha, FL until her retirement. After she retired she returned to Northeast Pennsylvania. Dorothy was a work-a-holic and worked many jobs to raise her children.

Dorothy was a member of the Lion's Club in Ocklawaha, FL. She attended St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Belleview, FL. She loved to go shopping and to various yard sales. She loved to read and watch her soap operas. She was a certified notary public. Dorothy was also an avid bowler as well. She loved her animals, especially her cat, Flippy. Dorothy's love for her family was unmeasurable, she loved each family member very much and she will be deeply missed.

Dorothy is survived by her children William Dymond of Springville, PA; Timothy Dymond of Ocklawaha, FL; Jennifer Dymond-Flanigan and her husband Jerry of Sanford, FL; and 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived her sisters Annette Allen of Springville, PA; Mary Allen Smith and her husband Ronald of Meshoppen, PA; brother John C. Allen of Ocklawaha, FL; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa Allen Lobmaster and her sister-in-law Lorraine Allen.

A memorial service for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR 6, Meshoppen, PA with family friend Rita DeRiancho officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Dorothy's name to the True Friends Animal Welfare Center, 16332 SR 706, Montrose, PA 18801 or the St. Jude's Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38015.
