Obituary
Dorothy A. Smith, age 88, of Endicott, NY (formerly of Camptown, PA) passed away Saturday afternoon, July 22, 2017 at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier in Endicott, NY.
Dorothy was born on April 6, 1929 in Towanda, PA the daughter of the late Walter E. Warburton, Sr. and Beatrice G. White Warburton. She graduated from Camptown High School with the class of 1947.
Dorothy married C. Avery Smith on July 6, 1958 and they were together until his passing on December 11, 2011.
She was employed as a Seamstress in dress factories around the area for many years and was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU). She was also a member of the Stevensville Presbyterian Church. Dorothy like to garden and read. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her children Avery D. Smith and his wife Bonnie of Athens, PA, Raymonda M. Barnhart and her husband Douglas of Apalachin, NY, and Dana W. Smith of North Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandchildren Aaron M. Barnhart of Ithaca, NY, Bryant D. Barnhart (Jenny Perucca) of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Codi F. Bezouka-Smith (Brittany Buck) of Endwell, NY; her step-grandchildren, Jason Cole and his wife Ashley of Litchfield, PA and Aaron Cole of Sayre, PA; her siblings, Marilyn Lutter of Washington, D.C., Walter "Sonny" Warburton, Jr. and his wife MaryJo of Wysox, PA, Robert Warburton and his wife Joyce of Jupiter, FL, and Alan Warburton of Towanda, PA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 12:00 noon from the Sheldon Funeral Homes, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with Reverend Dr. Andrew Watkins of the Grace Lutheran Church in Vestal, NY officiating. Interment will follow at the Camptown Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 North McKinley Ave., Endicott, NY 13760.
