Douglas H. Duffield, age 66, of Spring Hill, PA passed away at his home on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
Doug was born on May 11, 1959 in Lansdale, PA. He was the son of Horace “Duff” Duffield of Spring Hill, PA and the late Patricia Triol Duffield (d. October 12, 2024). He was a graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School with the class of 1977.
He married the love of his life, Penny Severcool, on July 18, 1981, and together they raised three children. Doug was a coach and mentor for his children as well as many other children through flag football, wrestling, and baseball. He was also an Assistant Scout Master with Camptown Boy Scouts Troop 4.
Doug was a self-employed contractor and a full-time farmer with his father on the Duffield Farm. Farming was a big part of his life as he still was raising cows. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion with the Wyalusing Post 534. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, golfing, socializing and reading books, especially ones by Louis L'Amour and William Johnstone. In his younger years he was a member of the LaFuerza Tug of War Team that traveled the world to compete. Doug was able to socialize with anyone about anything. He was an avid history buff and was a self-proclaimed “King of Useless Information”.
Doug is survived by his wife of 44 years, Penny Duffield; his children, Ross Duffield (Maggie) of Pipersville, PA, Jamie Duffield of Wyalusing, PA and Bryn Duffield (Nicole) of Bethlehem, PA; his granddaughter, Bonnie Duffield; his siblings, Suzanne Robinson (Kyle) of Spring Hill, PA and Bonnie Zipprich (Paul) of Hop Bottom, PA; his father-in-law, Myron Severcool of Montrose, PA; his sisters/brothers-in-law, Cathy (Errick) Noldy of Retta, PA and Amy (David) Robinson of Montrose, PA; Numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Wilma Severcool and his sister and her husband, Helen and Forrest Dunlap.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
