Obit for Duane E. Chapman (48)
Duane E. Chapman, age 48, of 152 George Ave, Wilkes Barre, PA (formerly of Silvara, PA) passed away at Hospice Community Care in Wilkes Barre early February 7, 2013 after an illness.
Duane was born on May 16, 1964 in Sayre, PA the son of late Paul Chapman and Gloria Moore Chapman.
He served his country in the US Army and he worked as a Truck Driver for many companies in the area, most recently DRS Transportation in Tunkhannock, PA.
He was a member of the Silvara United Methodist Church and also a member of the Rought Hall Post # 510 American Legion in Black Walnut, PA. He loved to do anything outdoors including fishing, hunting, trapping, and camping. Duane also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Duane is survived by his children Duane Carpenter (Sami) of Silvara, PA and Natasha Kuder (Robert Amann) of Wilkes Barre, PA; his grandchildren Kayden Carpenter and Kyla Carpenter both of Silvara, Cameron Kuder of Wilkes Barre, and Danielle Kuder and Elizabeth Kuder both of Forkston, PA; his foster mother Jane Brace Merrill; his brothers Paul Chapman, Alden Chapman, Steve Merrill (Carol) and Frank Merrill (Linda); his sisters Theresa Muszynski (Fred), Brenda Martin, and Gayle Arnold (David); as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two special friends Chris Norton and Mike Liddick. Besides his father he is preceded in death by his foster father George Merrill.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA with Pastor Bev Murphy officiating. A Military Service will be conducted by the Rought Hall Post #510 American Legion in Black Walnut, PA, the Dennis Strong Post # 457 American Legion in Tunkhannock, PA, and V.F.W. Endless Mountains Post # 3583 in Mehoopany preceding the funeral service. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the time of the services.
