Obituary

Edna Huffman Morse, 94, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2025. Edna Kathryn was born on August 18, 1930, to Walter and Bertha Huffman in Wilmot, Pennsylvania. Raised on the family farm, Edna developed a lifelong love for animals, gardening, and nature. She attended Wyalusing Valley High School, where she met and fell in love with a "townie," Milton Morse. They were married on November 30, 1949, and shared 61 wonderful years together until Milton's passing in 2009.

After spending several years living on Army bases and in Wyalusing, Edna and Milton settled in Camptown in 1961, where she remained for the rest of her life. Edna was a woman of boundless energy and deep community spirit. She was actively involved in many local organizations, including the Presbyterian Women's Circle, the Camptown Civic Club, and numerous events like the annual Camptown Races where she prepared the best pies for the pie booth.

Following the purchase of Arey's Hardware Store in Wyalusing, Edna took on the role of manager and buyer for the business. Later, she worked for the Wyalusing School District as a baker and cook, a position she held until her retirement.

Edna had many passions: she loved to travel with Milton, go square dancing, watch birds (especially the hummingbirds that visited her patio), garden, and can fresh produce. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Everyone knew that when she used "that tone," you'd better stop and listen. She was also a member of the Eastern Star were she was the Worthy Matron, Marshall, 50-year member and active in both St. John's Lutheran Church and the Camptown Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton; her children, Kathy Bilinsky, Elizabeth (Libby) French, and Milton Morse Jr.; her parents, Walter and Bertha Huffman; and her siblings, Loreine, Fern, Thressa, and John.

Edna is survived by her daughters: Lana Watson, Nancy Winterringer, and Valerie (Dave) Jenkins. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Allan (Amber), Jeffery (Abby), Andrew (Nicole), Matthew (Elizabeth), Robbie, Jonathan (Breanne), Milton, Matthew, Martin, Molly (Brian), Kathryn, Jeffrey (Samantha), Nicole (Andy), and Kyle. She leaves behind 24 great-grandchildren; her sister, Lucretia Way; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Heim, and her sons-in-law: General Robert French and Robert "Bo" Bilinsky.

In her later years, Edna was blessed with the care and companionship of many, including beloved caregivers Michelle and Cindy.
