Obituary
Mr. Edsel A. Salsman, age 69, of 1309 Church Rd., Laceyville, PA. (Golden Hill), passed away on Saturday morning, October 25, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Towanda, PA., after a lingering illness.
Edsel was born in Sayre, PA. on September 18, 1945 the son of the late Howard and Vera Woodruff Salsman Sr.
Growing up in a large family on Golden Hill, Edsel attended school in Laceyville, and later in Wyalusing. From August 1963 until March 1964, he served his country in the US Navy.
For many years, he worked at many stone quarries throughout Wyoming and Bradford Counties. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, and loved spending time with his family, especially with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving, is his wife the former Rhonda Snay Salsman, of Laceyville; his children; Paul (Stephanie) Cummings, of Berwick, PA; Anita Cummings (Carl Wood), of Wyalusing, PA; Kandi Gonzalez, of Wyalusing, PA; Steven Sellack; Kathy Drake, of Tunkhannock, PA; Jamie Ryce, of Meshoppen, PA; Blaze Granger, of Laceyville, PA. and his 16 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Edsel is also survived by his three brothers, Romaine (Betty) Salsman, of Spring Hill, PA; Richard (Darlene) Salsman, of Meshoppen, PA; Jeffrey (Noreen) Salsman, of Golden Hill, PA; and his four sisters, Reatha Robinson, of Golden Hill, PA; Marlene Rodriguez, of Silvara, PA; Linda Brown, of Golden Hill, PA; and Joanne Salsman, of Golden Hill, PA. as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his father in law and mother in law, Ronald and Nancy Snay, of Gillett, PA. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by 6 brothers, Howard Salsman Jr; Duane Salsman; Maynard Salsman; Eldon Salsman; David Salsman; and Lyle Salsman; and a brother in law, Jonathan Snay.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday afternoon, November 2, 2014 , at 1:00 PM at the home of his sister, Joanne Salsman, on Golden Hill, PA.
In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial donations, to the Bradford County Relay for Life, C/O Amy Huffman, PO Box 217, Wyalusing, PA. 18853.
