Obituary

Edward S. Clark, age 90, of Meshoppen, PA passed away Sunday evening, August 21, 2016 at the Abington Manor in Clarks Summit, PA, where he was a resident for the last month.

Edward was born on April 19, 1926, the son of the late Franklin and Lena Sickler Clark. He was a graduate of the Tunkhannock High School. He married the former Helen C. Kveragas on December 19, 1959. The couple was married for 55 years until Helen passed away on February 17, 2015.

Edward proudly served his country in World War II as a member of the United States Army. He drove truck for various companies in the area such as Mitchell Stone of Springville, PA, State Aggregate of Fleetville, PA, Smokey Burgess of Meshoppen, PA. He also worked for Howell Home Supply in Tunkhannock, PA and Mike Ciprich Service Station of Meshoppen, PA.

Edward was a member of the St. Joachim's Roman Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, and Rought Hall Post #510 American Legion. He enjoyed working in his wood shop, working on his tractors, and tending to his horses. He liked to fish with his friend Kern Dibble on the Susquehanna River and enjoyed family fishing trips to New York and Canada as well.

Edward is survived by his brother Franklin Clark of Lemon, PA; brother Reggie Clark of Lemon, PA; sister Esther "Midge" Leister of Quakertown, PA and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his sister Ora Clark, brother William Clark, and brother Glendon Clark.

Funeral services for Edward will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 9:00 AM at Sheldon Funeral Homes, Main Street, Meshoppen, PA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joahchim's Roman Catholic Church in Meshoppen, PA with Father Joseph Manarchuck of the church officiating. Interment will be held at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Tunkhannock, PA. A Military Honor service will be conducted by the members of Rought Hall Post # 510 American Legion, Black Walnut, PA, Dennis Strong Post # 457 American Legion, Tunkhannock, PA and the Endless Mountains Post # 3583 V.F.W., Mehoopany, PA. Family and friends may call on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM from Sheldon Funeral Homes, Main St, Meshoppen, PA. A Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Monday evening at 7:30 PM.
