Elaine Joy Washer, age 54, of 123 Bedford Rd., Meshoppen, PA passed away Saturday morning, October 12, 2013 after an illness at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.

Elaine was born on February 13, 1959 in Tunkhannock, PA the daughter of the late Elisha John and Beverly Beebe Brotzman.

She enjoyed sewing and yard sales. She adored all 10 of her dogs. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family.

Elaine is survived by her husband, William D. Washer, whom she married on September 15, 2000; her children Rexford L. Gregory, Jr. of Montrose, PA, Georgina Renee Gregory of Montrose, PA, John Elisha Merritt and his fiancé Norma Spindler of Tunkhannock, PA, Melinda Sue Gunton of Mehoopany, PA, and Brian Alan Gunton of Meshoppen, PA; her grandchildren Rexford L. Gregory, III of Allis Hollow, PA, Cheyenne A. Gregory of Allis Hollow, PA, Starr P. Nonnemacher of Montrose, PA, Destiny H. Nonnemacher of Montrose, PA, Dakota R. Herne of Montrose, PA, and Brandon M. Franklin of Mehoopany, PA; her siblings Marvin Brotzman, Sr. and his wife Elsie of Laceyville, PA, Florence Murray of Laceyville, PA, and Charles Murray, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Meshoppen, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, SR 6, Meshoppen, PA with Rev. Gil Clark of the Meshoppen and Russell Hill United Methodist Churches. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
