Elizabeth "Cookie" Stonecypher, age 79, passed away Tuesday morning, April 16, 2019 at the Moses Taylor Hospital with her family by her side.  She was residing at The Gardens in Tunkhannock and was formerly of Dupont, PA.

Cookie was born on December 18, 1939 in Dupont, PA the daughter of the late Anthony (d. 1962) and Elvira Sharr Boccardi, Sr. (d. 1972).  She attended Dupont High School.

She was employed with the Dress Factories, Curly Fashions in Dupont, PA and Laura Fashions in Avoca, PA until her retirement in 1998.  Cookie loved to all sorts arts and crafts.  She enjoyed coloring, making bracelets, scrapbooking and making special items for the holidays including wreaths, flower arrangements and Italian cookies.  She took great pleasure in playing Jeopardy and BINGO at The Gardens.  Cookie also liked to watch the New York Yankees.

Cookie is survived by her children, Betty Ann Grochal (Kevin White) of Meshoppen, PA, Beverly Scoda of Pittston, PA, Thomas Williams (Tammy) of Plains, PA, and Cheryl Roache (James) of Dupont, PA; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; her sister, Larraine Wysokinski (Robert) of Mt. Pocono, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Anthony Boccardi, Jr., Philip Boccardi, and Daniel Boccardi.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Cookie's name to The Gardens at Tunkhannock, Activity Fund, 30 Virginia Drive, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at The Gardens in Tunkhannock and at Moses Taylor ICU for the special care given to Cookie.
