Mrs. Ethel W. Cobb, age 95, formally of Forkston twp., PA, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 6, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock, PA. where she had been a resident for the last 18 months.
She was born on Clapper Hill, Tuscarora twp., Bradford Co., PA. on October 17, 1918 the daughter of the late Harry Olin and Ina Beeman Wootton. The early years of Ethel's life, were spent on Clapper Hill, where she went to school and graduated from the Camptown High School, with the class of 1936. She would later graduate from the Mansfield Teachers College, and then teach school, for many years at the Stevensville Elementary School. Mrs. Cobb was the wife of the late Raymond W. Cobb, who passed away in January 1985.
Being a homemaker for her husband and their family, she was a tremendous loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening.
Surviving is her children and their spouses, Vivian and John Schiffgens, of Venice, FL; and Gary and Mary Cobb, of Forkston, PA. as well as her 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa Rae, and a great-granddaughter, Elari Schiffgens.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Camptown Cemetery, in Camptown, PA. Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Homes, Main St., Laceyville, PA.
