Frances "Fran" O. Reeves, age 76, of Wysox, PA passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday afternoon July 4, 2015.
Fran was born on May 25, 1939 in Lymanville, PA the daughter of the late Frank K. Ferris who passed away in 1984, and Edna C. Sickler Ferris who passed away in 2000. She graduated from Tunkhannock High School with the class of 1958. On June 18, 1960 she married Maurice "Mike" I. Reeves Sr., in Jenningsville, PA. Mr. Reeves, passed away on April 28, 2008. Fran was employed as an Operation Manager, for the Endless Mountains Transportation Authority for over 20 years until her retirement in 2005.
Fran attended the Bumpville Bible Church. She loved the ocean, the beach, and especially the lighthouses of the Outer Banks, NC. Fran was very interested in history especially her family's genealogy and the history of the Civil War. Fran also enjoyed grave stone hopping as well.
Fran is survived by her sons Maurice "Mike" Reeves Jr. of Clermont, FL and Allen D. Reeves of Wysox, PA. Also surviving are her brothers Henry Ferris of Battle Mountain, NV; David Ferris of Jenningsville, PA; Howard Ferris and his wife Tammy of Jasonville, IN; sisters Bessie Robinson of Jenningsville, PA; Kathy Dimon of Jenningsville, PA; Naomi Worth of Battle Mountain, NV; and Eva Minchew and her husband Art of Carlin, NV, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her brothers Frank A. Ferris Jr. (2001) and Stanley A. R. Ferris (2004).
Abiding with the wishes of Fran there will be no funeral services or hours of calling. Family and friends may attend a graveside service at the North Flat Cemetery in Laceyville, PA on Friday morning, July 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Ron Dyer of the Dushore United Methodist Church officiating.
Arrangements were made through the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main St., Laceyville, PA.
