Obituary
Francis "Franny" Casselbury, age 77, of Herrickville, PA passed away Friday morning, April 8, 2016 at his home.
Franny was born on November 28, 1938 in Herrickville, PA the youngest son of 13 children of Edward and Lydia Woodruff Casselbury.
He was employed with Jersey Maples Farm in Le Raysville, PA for 30+ years. He was also employed with Herrick Twp. as a Road Laborer for 36 years. In addition he maintained the East Herrick Cemetery.
Franny was a member of the H.O.P.S Ambulance Association. He enjoyed watching sports especially his baseball team, the New York Yankees, and his football team, the Dallas Cowboys. He liked to play cards, hunt, and fish. He took great pleasure in helping at the Herrickville Fourth of July Celebration with the auctions and in the food pit. He loved spending time with his family and took care of his sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Brewer Casselbury, whom he married on October 27, 1961; his son Jerry Casslebury and wife Shannon of Wendell, NC; his grandsons Tyler and Austin Casselbury of Wendell, NC; his brother/sister-in-laws Florence Casselbury of Towanda, PA, Delena Casselbury of Auburn Center, PA, James and Sadie Brewer, Shirley Spencer, Paul and Betsy Brewer, Carl and Norma Brewer, Gloria and Daniel Rose, Earl Brewer, and Cora Arnold; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by all 12 of his siblings: Elizabeth Bowes, Walter Casselbury, Danny Casselbury, George Casselbury, Cora Fish, Rosa Shafer, Gertrude Hitchcock, Viola Brink, Aleatha Brink, Edward Casselbury, Ralph Casselbury, and Alvin Casselbury.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with Reverend Heather M. Baker-McAllister of the Wyalusing Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Interment will be at the East Herrick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Franny's name to the H.O.P.S. Ambulance Association, Attn: James Seipler, 6185 Herrickville Rd, Wyalusing, PA 18853 or to the Herrickville Vol. Fire Co., 6149 Herrickville Rd., Wyalusing, PA 18853.
