Frank Williams, age 87, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, October 17, 2024 at the Athens Health and Rehabilitation Center in Athens, PA.

Born on May 15, 1937 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Frank was the son of the late Shepard and Iva Hunt Williams.  Growing up in the Meshoppen area, he was very close with his eight brothers and sisters and enjoyed playing baseball, where he excelled on the pitcher's mound.  He also loved getting dressed up to attend church and with his mother, whom he cared for later in life, and sing along with the congregation at the Meshoppen United Methodist Church, where he was a devoted member.

Frank joined the workforce at an early age, working at the diner in Meshoppen before moving to Hillside, NJ and finding employment with a chocolate factory.  He then settled in Elmira, NY where he would work for American LaFrance and Sumerail.

While not working or being the caretaker for his mother, Frank loved nothing more than a bottle of Rolling Rock and a good cigar.

Surviving Frank, are his nieces and nephews, Gerald Jayne (Darlene) of Bentley Creek, PA, Paul Jayne of Millerton, PA, William Krause (Tina) of Elmira, NY who also served as Franks caregivers for many years, Diana Simons Krause of Elmira, NY, Gay Kulberda of Linden, NJ, James Williams (Cel) of Meshoppen, PA, Richard Williams (Linda) of Meshoppen, PA, Duane Adams of Meshoppen, PA, Elaine Barrett of Mildred, PA, and Janice Morgan (Benny) of Madisonville, TN.

Along with his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Clarence Williams, Elva Sickler, Donald Williams, Shirley Krause, Carl Williams, Marion Jayne, Esther Adams, and Robert Williams.

A funeral service for Frank will be held at the Meshoppen Community Church, 128 Church St., Meshoppen, PA 18630 on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Ron Folk officiating.  Family and friends may call at the church from 12:00 PM until the time of service. The committal service and interment will follow the funeral service and take place at the Overfield Cemetery in Meshoppen.
