Fred W. Decker, age 93, of Laceyville, PA entered into eternal rest on May 18, 2017 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown, PA while visiting his family.

He was born on May 15, 1924 in Laceyville, PA. He was a graduate of Laceyville High School with the class of 1943. On January 9, 1946, he married Joan Button of Springville, PA and they remained lifelong residents of Laceyville.

He served his country in the US Army during WWII. Fred was an Office Manager for Cornell Manufacturing in Laceyville, PA. He was a member of the Braintrim Baptist Church and Rought Hall Post # 510 American Legion in Black Walnut, PA.

Fred is survived by his son David Decker and his wife Lauren of Dalzell, SC; his daughter Lenore Muthler and her husband Steven of Slatington, PA; and his grandchildren Kelsie and Kyle Decker both of Dalzell, SC. Fred was preceded in death by his wife Joan on January 19, 2001.

Funeral services for Fred will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM from the Braintrim Baptist Church with Reverend Joseph Kilmer, of the church, and Reverend Richard Vieldhouse, a long time family friend officiating. Interment will follow at the Lacey St. Cemetery. A viewing will be held on May 26, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at the Braintrim Baptist Church. Graveside Military Services will be held at the cemetery, conducted by the members of the Rought Hall Post # 510 American Legion, of Black Walnut, PA; the Dennis Strong Post # 457 American Legion, of Tunkhannock, PA; and the Endless Mountains V.F.W. Post # 3583, of Mehoopany, PA

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Fred's name to Rought Hall Post # 510 American Legion, 328 Old Route 6, Laceyville, PA 18623 or to the charity of the donors choice.
