Frederick S. Reinhart, 91 of Wyalusing, PA passed peacefully to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on June 19, 2021, after complications from a fall.
Fred was born on August 15, 1929, in Columbia, PA, minutes after his twin brother, Lew, to Mildred S. Reinhart and Lewis H. Reinhart, Sr., and raised also by his stepfather, Gordon E. Cranford, of Columbia.
During the Korean War, Fred served as a jet engine mechanic in the US Air Force and received the Korean War Service Medal. He later graduated from West Chester State Teacher's College, (Pennsylvania) with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. While teaching in Harford County, Maryland public schools, he received a Master's in Music Education from the University of Maryland, College Park.
A diversely talented musician, music teacher and singer who spent over 30 years with Harford County (Maryland) Public Schools, Fred's career was mostly as the Symphonic Band Director of Edgewood Junior High / then Middle School. He also founded the Harford County Horn Club, specializing in the performance of French Horn works. He rode a motorcycle for many years and lived in many parts of the United States over his long life.
Fred was a member of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church (Pennsylvania) and was also a lay pastor, Visiting Clergy, Pastoral Services, with the Guthrie Healthcare System in Bradford County, PA. He loved praying for people and teaching the Bible to whomever would listen. He was devoted, as a husband and father, and to his Christian faith. He was meditative, loved watching hummingbirds, and was serious minded about the Word of God. He also liked good natured jokes, especially the 8 th grade kind!
Fred is survived by his wife, whom he married on August 25, 1979, Joanne S. Reinhart; his children Glenn L. Reinhart and his wife, Nicole, Emily A. Reinhart; and by his first wife (mother of his children); his brother/sisters-in-law, Angela Kathy Meister, Joseph S. Sperrazza and his wife, Editha Obejero and her son, Andrew, and Jean Reinhart; his half-brother, Thomas Reinhart; his nieces and nephews, Stephen Reinhart (Eliza Fuhrey), Timothy Reinhart (Christine), Susanne Daily (Dave), and Pam Wright (Joe); his special cousin, Kathi Benfante Mannino and her family; his dear friends, John and Lynn Petlock; as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Fred was preceded in death by his father, Lewis H. Reinhart, Sr.; his mother, Mildred S. Cranford; his step-father, Gordon E. Cranford; his sister Suzanne Young; and his twin brother, Lewis H. Reinhart, Jr.
A Service to Witness to the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, July 9, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church with his Pastor, Reverend Dr. Barry Ballard officiating. The service will begin with a Military Honor Service conducted by the members of the Wyalusing American Legion Post #534.
