Gary L. Stair, 74, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was born on August 2, 1941 in Millville, PA to the late Edwin and Dorothy (Mordan) Stair.

Gary grew up in Millville, PA and graduated from the Millville High School. After high school he attended Bloomsburg University and, upon graduation, moved to the Wyalusing area in 1963 where he was employed by the Wyalusing Area School District. Gary worked for the school district until his retirement in 2001. His responsibilities ranged from teaching to heading the A/V Department to information technology and maintaining the computer systems.

During his years as a resident of Sugar Run, Gary enjoyed fishing on the Susquehanna River. Other interests included working with computers, drawing and cartooning.

Gary is survived by his spouse Cindy Bird of Wyalusing, PA; a brother and his wife James and Patricia Stair of Bloomsburg, PA; and three nephews Tim, Danny and Tony.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA, at 4:00 PM with Rev. Beverly Murphy, a longtime friend and fellow high school teacher, officiating. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family at the Kitchens Cemetery in Millville, PA.
