Gayle A. Parkhurst, age 69, of Lacey Street, Laceyville, PA passed away early Tuesday morning, March 3, 2015 at the VNA Hospice of the C.M.C. Hospital in Scranton, PA.

Gayle was born on May 11, 1946 in Towanda, PA the daughter of the late Ralph D. Jackson, who passed away on November 4, 1996, and Betty H. Decker Jackson, of Lacey St., Laceyville, PA. Gayle graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School. She was married to the late Ralph Parkhurst Jr., who passed away on November 8, 1983. Gayle attended the Jenningsville United Methodist Church and was also a member of its United Methodist Women. She loved the New York Yankees, attending many games at Yankee Stadium, and also solving word puzzles, and reading.

Besides her mother Gayle is survived by her son Ralph Parkhurst III of Rome, PA; grandchildren Kevin and his wife Kim Parkhurst of Laceyville, PA; Jamie Parkhurst of Rome, PA; Nichole and her husband Chris Heckman of Towanda, PA, five great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Mark Jackson of Laceyville, PA; sister in law Suzi Jackson of Old Forge, PA; nephew Scott and his wife Melissa of Houston, TX; niece Michelle A. Jackson of New York City, NY; four great nieces; and one great nephew. Besides her husband and father Gayle is preceded in death by her brother Donald Jackson who passed away on October 7, 2005.

Funeral services for Gayle will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 459 Main Street, Laceyville, PA with the Reverend Charles Bishop of the Elk Lake and Transue Community Churches officiating. Interment will be held at the Lacey Street Cemetery in Laceyville, PA, at a later date. Family and friends may call at the funeral home, on Wednesday evening, March 11, 2015 from 6:00- 8:00 PM.
