Genevieve "Gen" A. Profera, age 87, of Wyalusing, PA, passed away on Sunday morning, January 21, 2018 at her home on Lime Hill.

Gen was born on September 7, 1930, the daughter of the late Sabatino and Lucia Canale Caporaletti . On October 24, 1953, she married Ben Profera and together they had three children. In the 1990's they moved from the Philadelphia Area to Wyalusing. Gen liked to crochet, needlepoint, and sew. She also liked to garden. Gen was an avid reader and was an excellent cook. All her dishes were famous, as her family has said. But most of all Gen liked to spend time and be surrounded by her family.

Besides her husband of 64 years, Ben Profera of Wyalusing, PA, Gen is survived by her children Michael J. Profera of Limerick, PA; Kathleen Williams and her husband Mark of North Coventry, PA; Lorraine Anderson and her husband Russell of Sanatoga, PA; grandchildren Christopher Williams of Port Angeles, WA; Kyle Wood and his wife Katie of Phoenixville, PA; and great-granddaughter Kennedy M. Wood, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and her daughter-in-law, Debra Profera.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church Street, Wyalusing, PA with Father Joseph Manarchuck of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish officiating. Interment will follow at Lime Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
