George R. Farr, Jr., age 37, of Kulpmont, PA (formerly of Camptown, PA) passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his home in Kulpmont.

George was born on May 16, 1979 in Towanda, PA the son of George R. Farr, Sr. of Kulpmont, PA and Lisa Merritt of Camptown, PA. George worked in area stone quarries until his health declined to a point where he could not work anymore.

He was a graduate of Wyalusing Valley High School with the class of 1998. In school he enjoyed playing football. He also liked to watch his favorite team, the Buffalo Bills, play each Sunday. George took great pleasure in building scooters and riding them. Most of all he loved spending time with his family especially his nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, George is survived by his siblings, Erin Watkins and her husband Jay of Rome, PA, Tonya Merritt of Camptown, PA, Josh Merritt and his wife Susin of Camptown, PA, Thomas Merritt of Laceyville, PA, and Ashley Merritt and her husband Louis Gomez of Laceyville, PA; his maternal grandparents, Elizabeth and James Croke of Waverly, NY and Leroy and Joanne South of Waverly, NY; his nieces and nephews, Jade, Hayden, Alex, Andrea, Skyla, Christian, Marieanna, and Jasper; a special nephew Colin Hall; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his step-father Tom Merritt on September 27, 2010; his paternal grandparents, Sarah and Minor Farr; and his nephew Timothy Farr.

Funeral services for George will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 12:00 noon from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with Dr. Reverend Barry Ballard of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Camptown Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, April 28th, from 10:00 until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in George's name to be made to Sheldon Funeral Homes, PO Box 370, Wyalusing, PA 18853 to help with final expenses.
