Gerald Raymond "Tim" Tinna, age 93, of Mehoopany, PA passed away Thursday morning, February 4, 2021 at the Wyalusing Personal Care Home where he had been residing since May of 2020.

He was born on May 10, 1927 in Sayre, PA the son of the late James A. (d. January 2, 1957) and Florence Brown Tinna (d. March 2, 1995).  He served his country in the US Army during WWII.  Tim married his wife Mary Ellen Kintner on June 17, 1949.

He served several years on the FWM Emergency Squad, was a member of the FWM Volunteer Fire Company, and the Rought Hall American Legion Post 510.

Tim was employed with Kintner Milling Co. in Meshoppen for over 40 years.  He was widely known as the local appliance repair man and was always ready to lend a helping hand to whomever may need it.  No matter what you needed he would always be there for you going the extra mile.  He was the family rock and he and Mary attended many sporting events over the years.  He took great pleasure in feeding deer at his house, taking care of flowers, and doing carpentry work.    He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Tim is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary K. Tinna; his children, Gerald Tinna (Jason) of Hot Springs, AR, David Tinna of Sugar Run, PA, Barbara Sierotowicz (Joseph) of York, PA, Rick Tinna (Nancy) of Tunkhannock, PA, and Ronald "Sam" Tinna (Shelly) of Laceyville, PA; his 7 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sisters, Margaret Carney of Meshoppen, PA, Ruth Cook of Tunkhannock, PA, and Frances Mallory of Tunkhannock, PA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Mary Tinna (d. August 4, 2020); his infant great-granddaughter, Abigail Tinna (d. August 27, 2012); his twin brother, Harold "Bim" Tinna (December 19, 1996); and siblings, Earl Tinna (d. April 15, 2003) Kenneth Tinna (d. January 26, 1938), Jean Shauger (d. November 24, 2007), Lola Remington (d. August 7, 2018), and Helen Wells (d. January 19, 2016).

A Military Honor Service will be held for Tim on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA and will be conducted by the members of the Rought Hall American Legion Post 510, the Dennis Strong American Legion Post 457, and the Endless Mountains V.F.W. Post 358.   A Funeral Service will follow with Vic Cappucci officiating.  Interment will follow at the Lacey Street Cemetery.  Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 PM.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, masks will be required to be worn inside the funeral home.
