Gloria Jean Rought, age 82, formerly of Wyalusing, PA went home to her Lord and Savior Saturday morning, December 30, 2023 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.
Gloria was born on September 19, 1941 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was the daughter of the late George Faux and Arlene Wall.
She lived in the Wyalusing area for many years before moving to The Gardens in Tunkhannock for the last few years. She was a housewife and homemaker for her husband, Walter Rought, Sr. and their family. She enjoyed cooking and dancing. Her house was always spotless. In her younger years she took great pleasure in attending church with her Grandmother. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Rought, Sr.; her children, Terry Walters (Lottie) of Liberty Corners, PA, Jamie Walters of Rome, PA, Donna Jenner (Richard) of Evergreen, PA, Vicki Way of Meshoppen, PA, Connie Paris of Meshoppen, PA, and Walter "Sonny" Rought, Jr. (Jacki) of Laceyville, PA; her grandchildren, Terry Walters, Jr., Melissa Walters, Christopher Walters, Brandon Walters, Skylar Walters, Jimmy Walters, Samantha Walters, Jeremy Jenner (Holly), Richard "Bubba" Jenner (Emily Signore), Matthew Jenner, Nikki Jenner, Annalease Donald (Seth), Michele Maynard (Curt), Michael Chamberlin, Chastity Walters, Marie Paris, Dalton McCullough (Adrianna), Trinity Kulick, Vayda Rought, Elijah Rought; many great-grandchildren; her sisters, Georgene Sheridan of South Montrose, PA and Kathy Wilson of Montrose, PA; a special cousin Judy Henry of Connecticut; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Terilyn Walters and Christina Paris; her sisters, Ruth Snedeker (Allen) and Audrey Stanley; her son-in-law, Stanley Way, Jr.; and special cousin, Bob Henry.
Funeral Services for Gloria will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 12:00 noon from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 155 Church St., Wyalusing, PA with Reverend Joseph Kilmer of the Braintrim Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Camptown Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
