Hannelore Ella Koopmann
(May 13, 1937 - March 15, 2015)

Hannelore Ella Koopmann, age 77, of Laceyville, PA, passed away early Sunday morning, March 15th, 2015 at her home after an extended illness with her husband of 56 years, Karl-Heinz Koopmann, at her side.

Hannelore was born in Nordenham, Germany on May 13th, 1937, the daughter of the late Ludwig and Elsa Thie. She immigrated to the United States June of 1955 and proudly became naturalized American Citizen December 30th, 1986. She was a stay-at-home mom who lovingly raised her 2 children and dedicated her life to caring for her husband and family. Much of her life was lived in Queens, NY but she and her husband retired to Susquehanna County where she loved living in the country and always found divine beauty in the nature around her.

Hannelore is survived by her husband, Karl-Heinz Koopmann of Laceyville, PA; children Uwe Koopmann and his wife, Kathleen Koopmann, of Laceyville, PA; Heike Proske and her husband, Frank Proske, of Meshoppen, PA. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren Ashley Koopmann of Sayre, PA, Andrew Koopmann of Laceyville, PA, Sarah Schmidt of Goldsboro, NC, Nicole Proske of Meshoppen, PA and Thomas Proske of Meshoppen, PA. Also surviving is her sister Liselotte Mayerberger of Middle Village, NY; brother Manfred Thie of Killeen, TX; brother Rolf Thie of Husum, Germany; cousin Mathilde Thie of Fort Pierce, FL; cousin Karin Gottzmann of Blexen, Germany; and several nieces and nephews.
