Obituary
Mr. Harold W. Bullock, age 66 of Mehoopany, PA, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday evening, January 8, 2016, at the Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock, PA, after being taken there earlier in the evening.
Harold was born in Meshoppen, PA. on February 5, 1949 the son of the late Gerald A. Bullock who passed away on February 15, 2001 and Agatha Grow Bullock, who passed away on February 7, 1995. Growing up in Fox Hollow, he spent his entire life there, which is just outside of Jenningsville, Wyoming County, PA.
On June 7, 1969, he married the love of his life; Shirley May Shotwell Bullock, whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage.
He retired from Penn DOT in 1999, where he worked 31 years as an equipment operator. He was a member of the Jenningsville United Methodist Church, the Tunkhannock Moose Lodge #1276, and was a life-long member of the National Rifle Association.
Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching the birds, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants. He was loved by everyone he met and always had a story to share or a joke to tell. Harold loved family gatherings and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Surviving is his loving wife, Shirley Shotwell Bullock, of Jenningsville, PA; his children and their spouses, Jennifer and Kevin Powell of Mehoopany, PA; Michael R. and Sarah Bullock, of Turin, NY; Matthew and Colleen Bullock, of Mehoopany, PA; and Susan and John Mattocks, of Tunkhannock, PA, and his grandchildren, Eric Powell; Michael A. Bullock; Julia Bullock; Seth Bullock; Matalyn Bullock; Luke Mattocks; Emily Mattocks; Benjamin Mattocks; and Caleb Mattocks. Also surviving is his brother, Robert Bullock, of San Antonio, TX; an uncle, Russell Bullock, of Tunkhannock, PA and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides is parents, Harold was also preceded in death by a brother Theodore Bullock, who passed away on June 27, 1996.
Memorial services will be held at the Jenningsville United Methodist Church, on Thursday morning, January 14, 2016, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Charles Bishop and Pastor Joshua Yorks officiating. Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, PA. on Wednesday evening, January 13, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Interment will be at a later date in the Vaughn Cemetery in Mehoopany, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the Bullock Family has suggested that memorial donations in memory of Harold be sent to the Jenningsville United Methodist Church, C/O Cindy Robinson, 7056 SR 3001, Mehoopany, PA. 18629.
